Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Data Analyst with a strong background in banking and financial services to support data-driven decision-making initiatives. Candidates with Capital One experience are highly preferred. If not from Capital One, candidates must have solid, long-term experience with well-known banking or financial clients and demonstrated tenure in prior roles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations for business and leadership stakeholders
  • Partner with business, product, and technology teams to define data requirements
  • Perform data validation, quality checks, and reconciliation across multiple data sources
  • Translate business questions into analytical solutions
  • Support regulatory, risk, and compliance-related reporting as needed
  • Document data definitions, methodologies, and processes

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or similar role
  • Strong experience in banking or financial services domain
  • Capital One experience preferred (any location)
  • If non-Capital One:
  • Must have worked with well-known, legitimate banking/financial clients
  • Must show long-term tenure (no job hopping)
  • Strong SQL skills (advanced querying, joins, performance tuning)
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
  • Solid understanding of financial data, risk, compliance, or regulatory reporting
  • Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Analytics, or related field

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in large enterprise financial institutions
  • Exposure to cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Python or R for data analysis
