Role: Network Security Engineer – Cisco & EMS Infrastructure
Location: Allentown, NY (REMOTE)
Job Description:
- 11+ years of experience in Network Engineering, Network Security, and Infrastructure Support.
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco switching, routing, and firewall technologies.
- Design, implement, and maintain IT and OT network infrastructure including LAN/WAN environments.
- Install, configure, and support EMS (Energy Management Systems) network equipment including Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Design and implement network solutions to improve performance, reliability, scalability, and security.
- Monitor and manage network traffic using SolarWinds, Wireshark, and other network diagnostic tools.
- Perform network troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance tuning across enterprise environments.
- Develop, implement, and optimize firewall rules to meet operational and compliance requirements.
- Implement network security policies including VPNs, access controls, and authentication mechanisms.
- Support and maintain RSA two-factor authentication systems, TACACS, and Cisco ISE solutions.
- Perform vulnerability assessments, patch management, and security hardening activities.
- Ensure compliance with NERC CIP and TSA security standards and regulatory requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve highly complex network issues across multiple platforms and environments.
- Maintain accurate network documentation including configurations, changes, troubleshooting procedures, and operational runbooks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams and business stakeholders for seamless integration and support.
- Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation and provide implementation, maintenance, and operational support.
- Strong understanding of network monitoring, diagnostics, and cognitive network operations.
- Exposure to 5G Wireless Networks is preferred.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in high-availability and mission-critical environments.
