Job Title: Mainframe DevOps Migration Consultant

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mainframe DevOps Migration Consultant / SCM SME to support enterprise application migration and modernization initiatives involving IBM DBB, Git, IDD, and Wazi solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in IBM z/OS environments, DevOps modernization, SCM migration, Git-based workflows, and mainframe application lifecycle management. The consultant will work closely with client stakeholders to migrate legacy SCM platforms such as Endevor into modern Git/DBB/IDD-based DevOps environments while supporting installation, troubleshooting, training, and modernization initiatives.

This role requires strong technical leadership, customer-facing consulting experience, troubleshooting expertise, and hands-on experience with mainframe DevOps modernization projects.

Key Responsibilities

SCM Migration & Mainframe Modernization

• Lead and support SCM migration projects from CA-Endevor and legacy SCM tools into IBM DBB/Git/IDD environments
• Assess existing mainframe SCM workflows and design modernization strategies using Git and IBM DBB
• Architect and support DevOps pipelines using Git, IBM DBB, IDD/Wazi Deployment, and automated deployment processes
• Analyze, convert, validate, and troubleshoot Endevor applications and migration workflows
• Support enterprise mainframe modernization and application lifecycle transformation initiatives

Installation, Configuration & Support

• Perform installation, configuration, and support activities for DBB/Git/IDD solutions within IBM z/OS and USS environments
• Troubleshoot pipeline failures, build issues, Git integration problems, deployment errors, and conversion-related issues
• Support branching strategies, repositories, build validation, and deployment automation activities
• Provide technical problem determination and root cause analysis for migration and deployment issues

DevOps & Automation

• Develop and support CI/CD and DevOps workflows for mainframe application delivery
• Work with YAML and Groovy scripting for pipeline automation and deployment orchestration
• Support Git-based development workflows, repository management, and automated build systems
• Ensure successful implementation of intelligent mainframe build and deployment solutions

Training & Client Collaboration

• Conduct technical training sessions for DBB, Git, IDD, and Wazi solutions
• Prepare technical documentation, migration guides, training materials, and presentation content
• Collaborate with IBM teams, developers, system programmers, and client stakeholders throughout project execution
• Assist clients with diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving migration-related challenges

Required Skills

• Strong experience with IBM z/OS and USS environments
• Hands-on experience with IBM DBB, Git, IDD, Wazi Deployment, and SCM modernization
• Experience migrating Endevor or legacy SCM platforms into Git/DBB environments
• Strong knowledge of DevOps pipelines, Git workflows, repositories, branching, and build troubleshooting
• Experience with YAML and Groovy scripting
• Strong application development or system programming background
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem determination skills
• Strong customer-facing communication and consulting experience
• Ability to articulate and support Git/DBB lifecycle modernization initiatives
