Job Title: Senior DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer

Duration : Long Term Contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking a seasoned DevOps / Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) who will design, implement, and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure systems in a modern cloud environment. As a key member of our engineering team, you will collaborate with cross functional stakeholders to ensure operational excellence throughout the software development life cycle. You will apply best practices in DevOps and SRE such as automation, observability, and continuous improvement to build, deploy, and monitor mission critical and high availability applications.

 

Responsibilities

  • Architect & Implement
  • Design and maintain robust, self-healing cloud infrastructure (AWS, Kubernetes, etc.)
  • Build CI/CD pipelines (using Jenkins, GitLab, or similar) to streamline software delivery
  • Reliability & Scalability
  • Implement SRE best practices (monitoring, logging, alerting, incident management) to ensure high availability and performance
  • Automate systems and operational processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation)
  • Security & Compliance
  • Automate security controls, governance processes, and compliance validations for cloud environments
  • Collaborate with security teams to ensure best practices are followed and vulnerabilities are remediated
  • Collaboration & Leadership
  • Partner with product and development teams to plan feature roadmaps and optimize deployments
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across teams
  • Provide mentorship and guidance on DevOps and SRE principles, fostering a culture of operational excellence
  • Incident Response & Support
  • Diagnose and resolve production issues using observability tools (Datadog, Splunk, etc.)
  • Analyze complex incidents, manage escalations, and communicate solutions to stakeholders 

 

Required Qualifications

  • Experience & Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps/SRE or related roles
  • Cloud & Containerization
  • Expertise in AWS services (EC2, EKS/Fargate, RDS/Aurora, S3, Lambda, SQS/SNS, etc.)
  • Strong background in container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices
  • Automation & Tooling
  • Proficiency with IaC tools (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation) for automated provisioning
  • Skilled in scripting (Python, Bash, PowerShell) for process automation and tooling
  • CI/CD & Observability
  • Solid understanding of DevOps concepts and experience building/maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with logging, monitoring, and alerting platforms (e.g., Splunk, Datadog, CloudWatch)
  • Database & Systems Knowledge
  • Comfort with both relational and non-relational databases (Oracle, Postgres, Cassandra, DynamoDB)
  • Understanding of distributed systems, networking concepts, and cloud security fundamentals

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or similar)
  • Experience with Kafka, event-driven architectures, and streaming pipelines
  • Knowledge of design patterns for building robust microservices
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and compliance requirements
  • Background in advanced CI/CD toolchains (Spinnaker, Jenkins, etc.)
  • Prior experience leading or mentoring a DevOps/SRE team
