Role Summary

The Senior Database Administrator is responsible for the design, administration, optimization, and reliability of enterprise database environments across mainframe and distributed platforms. The role ensures database performance, availability, security, and recovery standards are met while supporting complex application and data architectures.


Required Experience

  • 15+ years of enterprise database administration experience
  • Hands-on expertise with:
  • DB2 for z/OS
  • Oracle (10g and above)
  • Microsoft SQL Server (2008 R2, 2012 and above)
  • GIS database environments


Key Responsibilities

  • Perform daily database administration and operational support
  • Design, implement, and maintain database structures and schemas
  • Monitor, analyze, and tune database performance across platforms
  • Support database upgrades, recovery, and disaster-recovery readiness
  • Conduct SQL code reviews and enforce database standards
  • Develop and maintain DBA procedures and technical documentation
  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to staff
  • Support database and infrastructure initiatives as required


Technical Skills

  • Advanced DB2 for z/OS administration, performance tuning, upgrades, catalog maintenance, and recovery
  • Strong expertise in z/OS platformJCLISPF, and mainframe scheduling tools
  • Experience with DB2 monitoring tools and z/OS performance analysis utilities
  • Solid knowledge of RACFCICSIOF, and disaster recovery planning
  • Proficiency in Oracle and SQL Server integration, tuning, and administration
  • Working knowledge of COBOLWindows ServerSSMSSSRS, and SSIS
  • Exposure to Azure and enterprise infrastructure change management
