Role Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Enterprise / Cloud Architect to lead the migration of a large, stateful monolithic Java application to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role requires strong expertise in RMI-based architectures, session management, DNS-based service discovery, and high-availability cloud design, ensuring seamless connectivity and session continuity throughout the migration process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and lead migration of a large monolithic application to GCP
  • Design and validate RMI implementation on GCP
  • Implement QDRMI session management and ensure session continuity
  • Design stateful session and connection management across cloud instances
  • Enable and validate QDRMI connectivity between client applications and GKE
  • Implement DNS-based service discovery to replace fixed IP dependencies
  • Design DNS routing strategies for scalable service communication
  • Ensure binary protocol compatibility between on-prem and cloud-hosted services
  • Validate session persistence during GCP instance restarts and GKE pod restarts
  • Collaborate with application, networking, and platform teams to resolve connectivity and latency issues
  • Define architectural standards, patterns, and guardrails for stateful workloads on GCP

Required Skills & Expertise:

  • Enterprise-scale GCP architecture
  • Experience migrating large monolithic applications
  • Understanding of Java RMI / QDRMI architectures
  • Experience with stateful socket-based communication and session lifecycle management
  • Strong knowledge of DNS-based service discovery and routing
  • GKE architecture for stateful workloads
  • Networking expertise including load balancing, DNS routing, HA, and failover design
  • Experience handling binary protocols and compatibility challenges

Experience Requirements:

  • 13+ years in enterprise or cloud architecture
  • Hands-on experience with GCP and GKE
  • Experience designing high-availability and low-latency systems
  • Strong background in legacy modernization and cloud migration
  • Excellent technical leadership and stakeholder communication skills
