- Mobile Architecture & Angular Expertise: Lead the architecture and development of an Angular application wrapped with Ionic/Capacitor, including state management, modular design, AWS cloud and iOS-specific integrations.
- Hands-On Leadership & Delivery: Act as a player/coach, setting coding standards, performing code reviews, mentoring developers, and owning CI/CD, iOS builds, signing, and harness pipeline.
- Mobile Performance & Quality: Drive best practices for iOS performance, security, offline support, and UX quality to deliver a stable, production-ready mobile app.
Key Role Summary:
Owns the end-to-end technical execution of the mobile + backend ecosystem for the Customer Self-Service Companion application. Acts as the technical decision maker, ensuring reliability and alignment with enterprise standards, while remaining hands on in critical areas.
Core Responsibilities
• Own overall system architecture (mobile, backend services, messaging, data stores):
o Mobile application (Ionic + Capacitor / Cordova)
o Backend services
o Messaging and event processing
o Data persistence
• Lead design decisions for:
o Event-driven architectures (kiosk ? backend ? mobile)
o Push notifications and real-time updates
o Authentication and authorization flows (SSO, tokens).
• Set development standards and code quality expectations.
Required Technical Skills
Additional Responsibilities:
- The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of web design, responsive design, cross browser compatibility, page optimization, search engine optimization, and development and testing.
- The developer will bridge the gap between design and implementation; providing web solutions involving collaboration, portals, enterprise search, mobile functionality, and interactive forms.
- The qualified candidate will work in an Agile/Scrum delivery model and perform duties in a manner consistent with a complex, diverse, dynamic hardware and software environment that serves a complex education community
- Develop web applications and sites that engage and retain visitors.
- Provide guidance on industry best practices, guidelines and governance for web applications and web sites
- Manage latest requirements for cross-browser compatibility and page optimization.
- Develop application and sites to include social media and mobile functionality.
- Work closely with Quality Assurance to ensure end product is delivered with quality outcomes
- Perform benefit analysis for IT solutions and make recommendations for technology direction
- Articulate ideas and demonstrate a willingness to bring new ideas to the forefront frequently
- Maintain excellent knowledge base of industry trends and developments.
- Stay apprised of latest technologies and innovations in web application technologies Supervise and direct staff as assigned. Participate in recruiting and staff performance reviews as assigned.
