Overview -

Join our dynamic team as a Mainframe Developer for our government client specializing in Natural and ADABAS! In this energetic role, you will be at the forefront of maintaining and enhancing critical legacy systems while integrating modern solutions. Your expertise will drive seamless data processing, system reliability, and innovative application development within a robust IT infrastructure. Responsibilities-

  • Develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using Natural, and ADABAS to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate with solution architects to design scalable system architectures aligned with business needs.
  • Participate in system design sessions to enhance existing mainframe environments and integrate new functionalities.
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex code issues, ensuring minimal downtime and high-quality deliverables.
  • Support system hardening, security protocols, vulnerability assessments, and continuous system hardening initiatives to safeguard sensitive data.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams on Agile projects utilizing DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, and version control tools like Git.

 

Qualifications-

  • Proven experience developing with Natural programming languages, and ADABAS database management systems.
  • Strong understanding of service-oriented architecture (SOA), solution architecture, and system design principles.

?        Cobol with ADASQL, ADABAS / Natural for Mainframe z/OS, ADABAS / Natural Report & Structure Modes, ADABAS Predict, CICS, TSO/ISPF, JCL

?        Use of ADABAS utilities such as Delta Save Facility, ADABAS Utilities Natural utilities, SMA, Program Migration tool, Review, etc

  • Knowledge of modern software development practices including Agile methodologies, DevOps tools (Jenkins), RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and container orchestration with Kubernetes.
  • Advanced ability to write, modify, and troubleshoot JCL
  • Strong ability to manage batch jobs, datasets, and utilities
  • Strong understanding of job scheduling concepts
  • Ability to develop and maintain CICS online transactions
  • Ability to perform unit, integration, regression testing, and code reviews
  • Advanced ability to problem-solve in legacy environments
  • Strong analytical skills/ability to research issues and find root cause
