About the Team

The Private Markets Investment Technology team provides reporting and technology solutions for the Private Markets and Private Credit business, working primarily in SQL and Power BI and partnering closely with Data Engineering and the investment and business teams. The group is modernizing its reporting stack, moving legacy SSRS reports into Power BI paginated reports and adopting Databricks and Spark SQL. This role adds hands-on SQL and Power BI coverage for day-to-day production support and, over time, project and development work.

The Role

This is a hands-on, technical role focused on keeping the team's reporting and data solutions running and accurate. You will troubleshoot SQL and reporting issues, support Power BI and paginated reports, trace data lineage when report values look wrong, and work directly with business users and other technology and data teams to resolve issues. The first several months center on learning the environment and the business through production support; after ramp-up the work settles into roughly 80% support and 20% project work, with busier periods around quarter-end as Private Credit users run their quarterly investment reviews. Success in this role means becoming increasingly independent within a few months and confidently owning issues end to end.

What You'll Do

  • Write and troubleshoot advanced SQL, including complex queries, views, functions, and stored procedures, and diagnose why results are incorrect
  • Support and enhance Power BI reports and paginated reports, including migrating and rebuilding legacy SSRS content
  • Trace data and reporting issues through the model and back to source to determine root cause
  • Partner directly with business users to understand needs, ask the right questions, and gather requirements
  • Collaborate with Data Engineering on data structures, transformations, and issue resolution
  • Contribute to reporting enhancements, data extract automation, and application support as the role expands into project work

What We're Looking For

  • Advanced SQL is the top requirement: strong hands-on experience with complex queries, views, functions, stored procedures, and performance troubleshooting
  • Strong Power BI and BI development experience, ideally including paginated reports
  • Strong troubleshooting instincts and the ability to investigate a data or reporting problem and determine what is wrong and why
  • Comfortable working directly with business users, asking questions, and translating needs into solutions
  • A genuine self-starter who picks up the phone, investigates, and drives issues to resolution rather than waiting for direction
  • Enough data modeling understanding to communicate effectively with Data Engineering
