Project Manager with GCP experience to assist with the GCP Modernization

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Provide clear status reporting and manage stakeholder expectations
  • Operate cloud as a product, with strong ownership and accountability
  • Represent the team with technical confidence
  • Serve as a light coordination point with GCP and other vendors

 

As a Tech Project Manager, you will be responsible for building and leading the solution framework for cloud computing initiatives, including greenfield cloud-native solutions, as well as converting legacy applications to cloud-native and reactive architecture. You will participate in deep architectural discussions to build confidence and ensure customer success when building new, or migrating existing, applications, software and services on the Google Cloud Platform.

 

The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of cloud engineering and architecture best practices, as well as experience modernization and migration of legacy applications to the cloud.

 

Deep cloud technical expertise

 

  • Three or more years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform is required. Preference will be given to candidates with active Google Cloud Professional certifications (e.g. Cloud Architect, Cloud Database Engineer, Cloud Developer, Data Engineer, Cloud DevOps Engineer, Cloud Security Engineer, Cloud Network Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer)
  • Solid understanding for designing and transferring applications to the cloud
  • Experience building application migration roadmaps (the various stages and steps from lift and shift to complete cloud-native and reactive application)
  • Understanding multi-tier architectures, cloud networking, compute, and database technologies
  • Experience in virtualization, multi-tenant cloud infrastructures, storage systems, and content delivery network
  • Hands-on experience with implementation of CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Google Cloud Build, etc) and using Terraform or similar IaC technologies
  • Strong knowledge of the Linux operating system, and ability to work from the command line, leveraging shell scripting where needed (Bash, Python, etc.)
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools
  • Good understanding of cloud security architecture, security assessments and audit standards for the Cloud
  • Familiarity with DevOps and SRE best practices and culture
