You will serve as a technical lead across project workstreams, guiding development best practices, ensuring quality across environments, and supporting go-live readiness. This role requires hands-on expertise with Business Central financials and payments, with demonstrated experience implementing and supporting check payment processes (including payment journals, check layouts, positive pay/export files, void/reprint scenarios, and check printing controls) aligned to client banking requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical architecture, development, and delivery for Dynamics 365 Business Central projects, including extensions, integrations, and data migration.
  • Own AL development standards and practices, including source control, branching, code reviews, build/release processes, and automated testing where applicable.
  • Design and build Business Central extensions using AL, including pages, reports, codeunits, events/subscribers, and permission sets, while minimizing base app modifications.
  • Implement and support check payment processes end-to-end: vendor payment journals, payment proposals, check printing, MICR/check stock configuration, void/reprint, and audit controls.
  • Configure and troubleshoot check layouts and report customizations (e.g., RDLC/Word layouts) to meet client branding, remittance detail, and bank formatting requirements.
  • Design and deliver bank file outputs related to checks and payments (e.g., positive pay files, export formats, reconciliation outputs) and coordinate validation with client banking partners.
  • Develop integrations using Business Central APIs/OData, Azure services, and middleware patterns; support payment-related integrations with AP automation, banking portals, or third-party payment solutions.
  • Lead technical discovery, effort estimation, and solution design; create technical specifications and implementation documentation.
  • Partner with Functional Consultants to translate requirements into technical designs and confirm fit/gap for payments, banking, vendor management, and financial controls.
  • Oversee environment strategy and deployment across sandbox/UAT/production; support go-live cutover, hyper care, and ongoing production support.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues across application, extensions, integrations, and data; perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Provide delivery leadership and communicate status, risks, and mitigation plans to stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience delivering Microsoft Dynamics solutions, including 4+ years of hands-on Dynamics 365 Business Central/NAV technical delivery.
  • Strong proficiency in AL development, event-driven customization patterns, and extension lifecycle management.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and supporting check payment processing in Business Central, including check printing, layouts, void/reprint, approvals/controls, and bank-specific requirements.
  • Experience designing and validating positive pay and other bank file outputs; familiarity with common banking controls and reconciliation practices.
  • Experience with RDLC and/or Word report layouts for check forms and remittance advice.
  • Experience with Business Central integrations (APIs/OData, web services), data migration, and common Azure integration patterns.
  • Strong understanding of Business Central finance and purchasing processes (G/L, A/P, vendor ledger, bank accounts, payment methods/terms).
  • Consulting experience leading technical workstreams, facilitating technical design discussions, and producing clear technical documentation.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps or GitHub for work tracking and source control; familiarity with CI/CD for Business Central is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to translate technical concepts for business stakeholders.
  • Microsoft certifications preferred (e.g., MB-800 or related Dynamics 365 Business Central credentials).
