Position Overview

The Sales Management Platform (SMP) team is responsible for developing and maintaining the in-house CRM system that supports Tesla’s global sales operations. This mission-critical platform enables Sales Advisors worldwide to manage customer interactions—from lead conversion and order creation to pre-order advisory and demand tracking across vehicles, energy, and charging products.

As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you will design and develop high-performance backend services that directly enhance sales productivity, operational efficiency, and customer experience. This role requires a highly skilled Golang backend developer whose resume clearly demonstrates hands-on project experience and core technical competencies in distributed systems and scalable backend architectures.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and scale Golang-based backend services supporting global sales operations.

• Architect and implement distributed systems that process high-volume, real-time transactional data.

• Build performant, reliable, and maintainable APIs and microservices using Go.

• Integrate backend services with event-driven systems utilizing Kafka, RabbitMQ, and Redis.

• Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and data science teams to enable AI-assisted sales workflows.

• Own the full lifecycle of backend development—from system design and implementation to deployment and operational support.

• Continuously optimize system performance, scalability, security, and data integrity.

• Conduct code reviews, mentor team members, and promote best practices in software engineering.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of backend engineering experience, including at least 3 years of hands-on Golang development in production environments.

• Strong expertise in microservices architecture, concurrency patterns, and scalable backend design.

• Experience with messaging and streaming technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, and Redis.

• Proficiency in relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, and large-scale data platforms such as Click-House and OpenSearch.

• Experience with containerization and cloud-native deployment technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.

• Demonstrated ability in performance tuning, troubleshooting, and debugging complex systems.

• Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
