We are seeking an experienced Product Manager / Technical Lead to support a statewide School Based Services Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementation for a public-sector healthcare initiative. This role combines product management, technical leadership, stakeholder engagement, vendor coordination, and implementation oversight to help deliver a modern EHR platform serving educational and healthcare organizations throughout Vermont.
This is not a traditional product management role. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technical leader who can bridge business and technology teams, guide implementation strategy, oversee integrations and data migration activities, and support successful multi-site deployments.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical lead for a statewide EHR implementation initiative.
- Partner with project leadership, business stakeholders, school districts, healthcare providers, and software vendors.
- Lead technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, and release management activities.
- Oversee data migration efforts and system integrations/interfaces between the EHR and external systems.
- Evaluate technical solutions, identify risks, and recommend implementation strategies.
- Support Agile and hybrid project delivery methodologies.
- Monitor vendor performance and coordinate issue resolution activities.
- Provide technical guidance to business stakeholders and implementation teams.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear business language.
- Support phased and cohort-based go-live activities across multiple organizations.
- Develop and review technical documentation, implementation plans, and training materials.
- Participate in steering committee meetings and executive-level discussions.
- Identify and communicate technical debt, implementation risks, and mitigation strategies.
- Research industry best practices and emerging healthcare technology trends.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in Product Management, Technical Product Management, Technical Leadership, Solution Architecture, or Systems Implementation roles.
- Experience leading EHR, EMR, healthcare technology, or health information system implementations.
- Strong background in system integrations, APIs, interfaces, and data migration projects.
- Experience managing software vendors and third-party technology partners.
- Working knowledge of Agile, Scrum, and Hybrid project delivery methodologies.
- Experience coordinating diverse stakeholder groups across business and technical organizations.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to work effectively with executives, technical teams, and end users.
- Experience supporting enterprise software deployments and release management activities.
- U.S. work authorization
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Medicaid, public health, healthcare payer, or healthcare provider systems.
- State or local government consulting experience.
- Experience working with K-12 education organizations, school districts, or education technology initiatives.
- Experience in HIPAA-regulated environments and healthcare data governance.
- Familiarity with healthcare interoperability standards and EHR integrations.
- Experience supporting multi-site software implementations and organizational change initiatives.
