Job Title: Technical Product Owner – Infrastructure & Hybrid Cloud

Location: Memphis, TN (Hybrid Onsite)

Duration: 18+ Months Contract

Overview

We are seeking a highly technical Product Owner to support our Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure (HCI) and Database Operations (DBOps) teams. This role is ideal for someone who understands both on-prem infrastructure and cloud platforms and has experience partnering closely with infrastructure engineers, DBAs, and technical stakeholders.

This Product Owner will help guide infrastructure modernization efforts, including cloud adoption, migration initiatives, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices. The ideal candidate understands how infrastructure platforms deliver business value and can translate highly technical concepts into clear product direction.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

• Support the strategic direction of infrastructure product platforms serving internal business partners
• Contribute to and help maintain a 3-year product roadmap aligned with cloud and infrastructure transformation initiatives
• Own backlog prioritization, release planning, and day-to-day product facilitation
• Translate business and technical requirements into user stories and functional design
• Partner closely with infrastructure engineers, DBAs, Scrum Masters, and Engineering Managers
• Facilitate scope, design, and requirements discussions involving cloud architecture and deployment
• Coordinate product releases, defect resolution, and status reporting
• Ensure solutions meet information security standards and quality expectations
• Support user-centered design efforts, usability reviews, and stakeholder training
• Collaborate with external contractors and vendors to enhance infrastructure platform capabilities

Environment You’ll Support

Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure (HCI)

• Responsible for datacenters, servers, and infrastructure appliances (excluding network appliances)
• Team: 8 core engineers, 8 SOW engineers, 1 Engineering Manager, 1 Scrum Master

Database Operations (DBOps)

• Responsible for core database engines and supporting development/application teams
• Team: 5 core engineers, 8 SOW engineers, 1 Engineering Manager, 1 Scrum Master

Primary customers are internal business partners.

Required Experience & Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of IT experience (strong technical foundation required)
• Prior Product Owner experience supporting infrastructure teams (not only application development teams)
• Experience working in hybrid cloud environments (on-prem + cloud)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
• Understanding of cloud service models (IaaS)
• Experience with Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies
• Ability to translate between business needs and technical architecture discussions
• Strong collaboration skills with engineers, DBAs, and cross-functional teams
• Experience supporting release coordination and backlog management
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Visio
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Product Development, or related field
• Agile Product Owner certification preferred

Highly Preferred / Ideal Background

• Former Infrastructure Engineer or DBA
• Experience supporting organizations transitioning from primarily on-prem infrastructure to cloud-based infrastructure
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible
• Database platform experience (working knowledge of enterprise database environments)
• Strong prioritization and communication skills in technical environments
