About the Role:

We are seeking a GraphQL Developer to join our team in Houston, TX for a 100% onsite, long-term contract-to-hire opportunity. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in GraphQL API development, backend integration, and performance optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain GraphQL APIs for scalable and high-performance applications.
  • Work closely with frontend teams to ensure seamless data integration with React, Angular, or Vue.js applications.
  • Optimize GraphQL queries and resolvers for efficiency, security, and performance.
  • Develop and integrate GraphQL with Node.js, Apollo Server, Hasura, or other GraphQL frameworks.
  • Implement authentication, authorization, and caching strategies for GraphQL APIs.
  • Collaborate with backend teams to integrate GraphQL with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and microservices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve API performance bottlenecks and security vulnerabilities.

Requirements:

3+ years of experience developing GraphQL APIs.

Strong knowledge of GraphQL schemas, resolvers, and query optimization.

Hands-on experience with Node.js, Express.js, or Nest.js.

Experience with Apollo Server, Hasura, or Relay.

Familiarity with RESTful APIs and their integration with GraphQL.

Experience working with SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) or NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB) databases.

Knowledge of OAuth, JWT, and role-based access control (RBAC) in API security.

Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.

Must be willing to work 100% onsite in Houston, TX.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

Experience with GraphQL Federation & Microservices Architecture.

Knowledge of TypeScript for GraphQL development.

Understanding of serverless GraphQL architectures (AWS AppSync, Firebase, etc.).
