Job Description: We are seeking a Senior Data Governance Specialist to lead the development and implementation of an enterprise data governance framework within a Federal/DoD environment. The candidate will establish governance policies, data standards, data quality processes, stewardship practices, and access governance aligned with DoD data governance best practices.Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain an enterprise data governance framework, including governance board charters, data classification policies, data quality standards, metadata standards, and access procedures.
• Develop data standards, naming conventions, quality rules, and thresholds for Microsoft Fabric and Ed-Fi data environments.
• Establish and manage Data Steward networks, including training, operating procedures, regional coordination, and communities of practice.
• Lead data quality reviews, governance workflows, access requests, and governance board activities.
• Develop data retention, lifecycle, and classification policies aligned with Federal and DoD requirements.
• Support Master Data Management (MDM) strategy and implementation.
• Configure and maintain Microsoft Purview governance controls, including sensitivity labels, data domains, access policies, and DLP rules.
• Support data classification, data marking, and RBAC requirements using Microsoft Entra ID.
• Develop governance artifacts in collaboration with Government stakeholders.
• Track and report data governance maturity, adoption, and progress.
• Apply DoD Data Strategy, VAULTIS, and DoD Data Stewardship Guidebook principles.
• Support implementation of federated data governance models across organizational and regional teams.

Required Qualifications

• Strong experience in Enterprise Data Governance within a Federal/DoD environment.
• Active Tier 3 clearance required.
• Experience developing data governance, data classification, data quality, and access governance frameworks.
• Experience with federated data governance models and data stewardship programs.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Purview governance controls.
• Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, RBAC, and data access governance.
• Knowledge of DoD Data Strategy, VAULTIS, and DoD Data Stewardship Guidebook.
• Experience with data retention, lifecycle management, metadata, and data quality.
• Experience supporting or developing Master Data Management (MDM) strategies.
• CDMP or DGSP certification preferred
• Ed-Fi data environments
