Job Description

JPMC is seeking a highly skilled Core Java Backend Engineer to design, develop, and support scalable backend applications and microservices. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java-based backend development, cloud technologies, event-driven architectures, and modern DevOps practices. This role requires hands-on experience building enterprise-grade applications while leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and code quality.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Core Java and Spring Boot.
• Build and support RESTful APIs and microservices-based architectures.
• Develop and optimize database solutions using SQL.
• Implement and maintain event-driven systems utilizing Kafka.
• Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot applications in Kubernetes environments.
• Build and support cloud-native applications on AWS.
• Utilize AI-powered development tools such as GitHub Copilot to enhance development efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product Owners, Architects, QA, and DevOps teams.
• Participate in code reviews, performance tuning, debugging, and production support activities.
• Follow Agile development methodologies and engineering best practices.

Required Skills

• Strong experience with Core Java.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot and microservices development.
• Experience using AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot.
• Strong SQL and database development skills.
• Experience with Apache Kafka.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience developing and deploying applications on AWS.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, distributed systems, and backend application design.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker.
