Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and optimization of high-performance ETL pipelines across multiple data sources.
- Build robust data integration workflows using Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics, and Azure Purview.
- Ensure data integrity, scalability, and security within enterprise data architectures.
- Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver reliable data for analytics and reporting.
- Continuously refine ETL processes to reduce latency, maximize throughput, and enhance system reliability.
- Implement and monitor data governance, lineage tracking, and compliance using Azure Purview.
- Document ETL workflows and establish development best practices for reusability and maintainability.
- Mentor junior team members and promote standards for data processing excellence and accountability.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in ETL development and data engineering within large, complex environments.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with Azure ADF, Databricks, Synapse, and Purview.
- Expertise in Spark, Python, and/or Scala for data transformations.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and working with complex relational and non-relational data structures.
- Proven ability to design and optimize high-availability ETL solutions supporting analytics workloads.
- Strong understanding of data governance, security, and role-based access control (RBAC) within Azure.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to lead technical initiatives.
Education and Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience in SOA and Azure cloud solutions.

- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals
- Databricks Data Engineer Associate
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience supporting Florida state agencies or similar government IT projects.
- Demonstrated success architecting Azure-based data warehouses, data lakes, or analytics platforms.
- Proven ability to mentor and lead cross-functional teams in large-scale data modernization efforts.
- Immediate availability and willingness to work on-site in Tallahassee, FL.
