Role: API Integration Developer Apigee

Our fully remote client in is looking for an Sr API Integration Engineer (Apigee/Ace) to join their team. You will continue to learn new technologies and advance your skills in this long-term contract with a very stable and growing organization.

Position Description:

·     100% remote, hands-on development of Apigee

·     Attend some technical meetings with development team

·     Working with leads to shadow during the training phase

·     Some unit testing

·     Design, develop, and maintain message flows and integration services using IBM ACE and Apigee API Gateway.

·     Work with ESQL, Java, and Mapping nodes to transform and route data between applications and services.

·     Integrate diverse systems including databases, SOAP/REST APIs, MQ, HTTP, JDBC, and file systems.

·     Configure and manage ACE integration servers, bar files, and deployment processes.

·     Implement exception handling, logging, and performance tuning for high-availability enterprise environments.

·     Define API proxies, policies, security (OAuth2, JWT, API Key), and traffic management (quotas, caching, spike arrest).

·     Hands-on experience using Javascript policies, Java callout etc.

·     Integrate Apigee with backend microservices, IAM solutions, and analytics tools.

·     Monitor and troubleshoot performance and availability of API endpoints.

 

Required Skills:

·     7+ years of overall IT experience in integration and API development.

·     5+ years hands-on experience with IBM App Connect Enterprise (or IBM Integration Bus) (or IBM ACE)

·     3+ years working with Apigee

·     Very strong understanding of how to build a proxy, little bit of Java

      Proficient in ESQL, XML, XSLT, JSON, SOAP, REST, JavaScript and Java.

·     Solid understanding of API security, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.

·     Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and version control tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins).

·     Good understanding of how SSO works and how it implements with Ping Federate or OKTA or any SSO Single Sign On platform. Good understanding of OIDC (OpenID Connect) SSO

·      Experience working with SAML services 

      Bring a very problem-solving mindset, taking ownership of your desk and accountability for all work. Resourceful ability to use the resources you have - team members and information sources - without relying too heavily on solely your team lead.

·     Must be able to deliver strong hands-on development from day one at a very quick pace as the team is mid project right now.
