Position: Senior DevOps Engineer (Jira Platform Engineer)

Location: Washington, DC (On-site)

Project Description:

Deploy and integrate Jira SaaS in Atlassian Gov Cloud (AGC) with other enterprise systems used by the Federal Reserve Board. The engineer will own, administer, configure, and integrate Jira SaaS, helping migrate from Azure DevOps and GitLab to Jira, and support Agile transformation across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Jira Administration & Engineering

Configure and optimize Jira SaaS for Agile and project management needs.

Design custom workflows, screens, and automation rules.

Manage permissions, roles, and security schemes.

Track license usage and support renewal and budget planning.

System Integration & Development

Integrate Jira with GitLab, ServiceNow, Okta, etc., using REST APIs, webhooks, and scripts.

Automate data sync between systems for traceability.

Troubleshoot and optimize integrations for performance and security.

Document technical standards and best practices.

Agile Enablement

Partner with Agile teams to configure Jira per Agile practices.

Provide mentoring on Jira usage and Agile metrics (velocity, burndown, etc.).

Support migration from Azure DevOps Boards and GitLab to Jira SaaS.

Required Skills & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).

3+ years of hands-on Jira administration/engineering (SaaS or on-prem).

Experience building custom integrations with GitLab and ServiceNow.

Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript scripting.

Strong knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, and DevSecOps.

Experience migrating from Azure DevOps or similar tools to Jira.

Preferred:

Experience with Confluence, Bitbucket, and Atlassian Marketplace apps.

Prior Federal government or DevSecOps/Platform Engineering experience.

Familiarity with FISMA, SOX, FedRAMP standards.

Atlassian Certifications (ACP-620, ACP-120) preferred.
